Greenville Update 2
Howdy,
The schedule is out. However, there is currently the chance of snow in Greenville on Friday and Saturday. Since we will be in South Carolina, any amount of snow will pretty much shut the city down until it thaws. We are monitoring the situation, and trying to find the best way to make a decision without endangering any of our teams with their travel. If it snows then we will almost definitely have to cancel/reschedule the event. All payments will be refunded in that event. Unfortunately, South Carolina just isn't built to handle any amount of snow or ice. Greenville doesn't even have proper snow plows. They convert dump trucks.
In the event of a cancelation, we are happy to help coordinate with your hotels/airlines/Airbnbs in order to try to get you refunds.
UPDATE 2:
I have been able to get in touch with the rink and discuss the possibilities for this weekend. It is up to the rink to cancel, if they have to close due to inclement weather. That decision wouldn't be made until Friday or Saturday morning. I also have the ability to reschedule the event to a later date, that part is my call.
Therefore, I think the best plan of action is to monitor the forecast and make a decision by Thursday. Unfortunately, if we wait for the rink to make a call then people may have already traveled to Greenville, leaving them up a creek a bit. I would like to be able to make a decision on this weekend before people begin to travel to Greenville.
To be entirely transparent, I'm not sure what the best indicator is to make this decision. Weather predicting is an inaccurate science. My gut is telling me that is there is a 50% or more chance for snow/ice in Greenville this weekend that it would be best to reschedule the event. If I were to make this call, it will happen on Thursday.
There is still the chance that we don't decide to reschedule, it still snows, and the event is canceled anyway.
We are trying to come up with a plan of action that causes the least amount of stress and inconvenience for our teams.
Thanks,
Jake
